When students come to college, they are thinking mostly about what they are going to get out of it — a job.Landing a good job is the single most important reason students give for going to college. More than eight in 10 first-year students say improving their chances of getting a better job is very important to them, according to a national survey of freshmen conducted annually by the University of California at Los Angeles’s Higher Education Research Institute. In many ways, this attitude makes sense.
